Frequently asked questions
Can I get my birth control mailed to me?
If you have a prescription, or come in for an appointment to get a prescription and don’t choose to get a year’s supply then yes, we can mail it to you. There might be a small fee depending on the number of months you want at a time.
How do I choose the right birth control?
Our pharmacists can not only write you a prescription, but they will go over all the birth control pill options with you and help you find the best one for your unique situation.
Do I need a prescription to get birth control?
Yes, we need a valid prescription to fill your birth control pills. Our pharmacists are now licensed to write prescriptions for you and there is a $50 consult fee. Or you can work with your primary care doctor to get the prescription.
I have insurance, can that cover the $50 consultation fee?
The pharmacy is able to process prescription insurance (for the actual prescription of birth control) but not a medical insurance card, so that consult fee is $50 regardless. However you can use a FLEX or HSA card to pay for it if you have one.
Are you an online pharmacy?
No, Person Street Pharmacy is a brick and mortar, located in Raleigh, North Carolina. However, we process orders for patients using an online form or over the phone, and then we ship the medications directly to you.
Can you ship anywhere?
At this time, we are licensed in North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia. We are a true, and trusted, local pharmacy.
Is there an age requirement to get a birth control prescription?
Patients must be of menstruating age and, if under 18, a parent or guardian must be present with them.
Is it possible to get denied a prescription?
Yes, there are certain things in your health history form that would require us to deny a prescription. Also if your blood pressure is not normal, or if you are or may be pregnant. If we have any concerns, we will refer you to an OB or Primary care doctor for further consideration.
Save on other medications with our Low Cost Generic Drugs Program!
Our affordable generic drug program is way cheaper than going to the chains. It starts at just $6/month for a 3, 6 or 12 month supply on most generic drugs.
